The Rotary Club of Stockport Lamplighter recently held their annual Youth Speaks competition where six local schools took to the podium to speak about matters as various as Graffitiart or vandalism ? to Would you swop your sense of humour for a million pounds?
This competition is without doubt a wonderful experience for the year six pupils taking part who kept their audience enthralled with some of the sentiments they expressed.
Coached by Lamplighter Nan Ironsides, a member of Stockport Ladies Speakers Club, all the teams gave incredible performances and kept their audience enthralled throughout the whole evening.
The winners, from Green End Primary School chose to speak on the subject of Feminism- the final frontier
Along with the runners up from Tithe Barn Primary School they will go through to the area finals later in the year
