In December Congleton Rotary held their annual Christmas show at the Daneside theatre featuring the fabulous Silk Brass band and the wonderful Eaton Bank Academy “Encore” choir. The evening raised a magnificent £1,800 through ticket sales, an excellent raffle & programme sales.
A cheque for £1,800 was presented to Andrea Kinsey the CEO of The Carer’s Trust based on West Road in Congleton. The money will be used to pay for a number of young Congleton Carer’s to attend an action packed adventure camp in southern England for a few days in summer.
President Brian Hogan said that Rotary club members were delighted to raise this money for the Carer’s Trust, a very worthy & deserving local organisation.
In March, the annual Swimathon will be staged at Congleton Leisure Centre on Friday March 9th & Saturday March 10th. Entries are currently being accepted, schools, company’s & clubs who want to enter a team are asked to contact Lorraine Sloane on 07732-326498 for an entry form & information pack. Did you know that 50% of the money each team raises will be returned to them for donation to a charity of their choice.
