District 1285 Summer Camp 2018

Summer Camp 2018

At their last meeting District Council gave their formal approval to promoting another Summer Camp in 2018. The dates are given above and arrangements are now well underway with the organising of this important event.

Invitations have been issued to the following countries to each send two students to the 2018 Summer Camp

Portugal
Romania
Poland
Macau
Germany
Italy
Scandinavia (country yet to be determined)

For the first four days of the Camp (Sat. 14th July - Wed. 18th July) students will stay with Rotarian families from across the District. For the remainder of the Camp students stay at both Petty Pool and during the mid weekend they visit Rotary Clubs on the Isle of Man.

In order to ensure a successful camp we need to find seven Rotarian families willing to host two students each at the beginning of the Camp. Are any of you able to help ??

All the students are under the age of 18 during their time at the Summer Camp so all host families will need to secure the necessary DBS clearance. (previously known as CRB) However this is no problem as we will ensure all the paperwork is completed and there is no cost at all to the host family. It is a simple and straightforward process.

Can you please circulate this request around your Club members so they can consider helping with this hosting. I know from many years of personal experience they will thoroughly enjoy the opportunity.

I will happily come and speak to any interested Rotarians and answer any questions etc.
