The Rotary Club of Stockport Lamplighter recently held a surprise 90th birthday party for their oldest member JOAN Ebbrell where guests were entertained by a lively Capella quartet.
JOAN, a retired social worker from Heaton Mersey in Stockport is a most enthusiastic, active member of the club whose age is no barrier to the work she undertakes for Rotary.
December saw her collecting on the float with Santa whilst helping other Lamplighters raise the magnificent total of just over £11,000 to be used to support good causes.
She is also a member of the ukulele band, helps out at the local dementia cafe and organises days out for the local community.
As Joans surprise party drew to a close Lamplighter President Linda presented her with a pretty birthday cake. Joans delighted response was to invite everybody to her 100 th birthday party in ten years time !
