Following their successful Search for a Star night held at the Oaklands Hall on Friday 29th September Hyde Rotarians Kevin Maddox and President Alan Oldham visited the Christie Hospital in Withington to present a cheque to Heather Brookfield community fundraising coordinator.
The night raised £523.00 through the door admission and raffle with all profits going to the Christie. The Rotary club then made the figure up to £1,000.00
Speaking after the cheque presentation the organiser of the Search for a Star event Kevin Maddox said "I really wanted to put on a decent nights entertainment that would showcase the talent we have here in greater Manchester and it gave me great pleasure to hand over a cheque to The Christie that will help with research into cancer that now affects our community in so many ways
".
