Following months of planning and auditions via You tube videos Hyde Rotary Club Held there Search for a star competition last Friday night at the Glenwood Suite at The Oaklands Hall in Hyde.
Eleven Contestants travelled from throughout the North West to enter this prestigious competition and the standard was very high, Organisers booked the judges Barbara Dignan from Oldham Community Radio, Katie Stelfox singer and now agent and the nights sponsor Vicky Gaunt from Aidan Gaunt family funeral directors in Hyde who provided the three trophies and cash prize of £100.00.
After two hours of nonstop entertainment the judges added their own critique of each performance and the scores were adjudicated.
The winner of the event was Mottram Based Roscoe McCabe in second place Letitia Gray from Moston and third Stacy Southward from Gee Cross. The winners will now be invited to sing at the Hyde Christmas Light Switch on event that is being held on Saturday 25th November in the market square.
Following the evenings entertainment organiser Kevin Maddox said its great to organise an event for the Christie my chosen charity Katie and I screened all contestant videos over a two month period before eventually choosing our line up and we will be presenting our cheque to the Christie for £523.00 that was raised on the night from entrance fee and the raffle.
