The 2017/18 annual John Nicholson Bursary was awarded to worthy recipients Asia Ogden and Victoria Hoover both pupils of Castle Rushen High School in the Isle of Man and was presented by Mike Ingram, Chairman of the Foundation.
John Hobson Nicholson, one of the most successful Manx Painters, was a long standing and Founder Member of Rushen & Western Mann Rotary Club, he sadly died in 1988.
The John Nicholson Foundation was set up as a charity following his death to support visual arts in the Isle of Man and now provides a Bursary each year. In response to the 2017/18 Bursary Scheme the Charity resolved to award Asia and Victoria £500 each to help them with development of their art studies.
Asia and Victoria are both sixth form students at CRHS, Asia works digitally and enjoys painting in several media, whilst Victoria sets her sights on an Art & Design course at University College Isle of Man.
