We recently created a wheelchair by collecting Yorkshire Tea Bag bar codes.
In July, we ran a feed station on the marathon part of the Bolton IronmanUK course (with help from Horwich, Radcliffe, Sherborne Castles and Worsley Rotary clubs. Rotary in Bolton clubs also ran two other feed stations, and helped marshall the world largest Ironkids race in Bolton town centre.
At our most recent meeting, Past President Marjorie talked to us about her life in Spain, renovating an ancient farmhouse, and we pressed some wine.
We are reaping the membership dividend, with six recent new members, and more on the way. Two of our members are very active at District level.
Our next major event is Diwali (Festival of Lights) celebrations on the 14th October at the Triangle Church in Bolton. Tickets £15pp. We also have a very active social programme.
We are leading on the next district mealpack, and are looking for pledges of volunteers and/or donations.
