The Rotary Club of Stockport lamplighter recently held their annual Eric Patton charity golf day at Heaton Moor golf club, ably organised by Lamplighter Kate Turpie. Eric was a very committed Rotarian and was a member of Didsbury before joining Lamplighter.
As luck would have it out of the thirteen teams that took part the one captained by his son Mark won the trophy which was presented by Lamplighter president Linda Mullins.
Mark also won the individual prize with a score of 90 points followed by Phil Matthews with a commendable 87. Ted Furnston from Northenden Golf Club came third.
The day was very well supported with many substantial donations and raffle prizes being donated by companies and the local community.
The profit made came to almost £1,500.00 which lamplighter are to share between The Stroke Association and Prostate Cancer UK.
