Dear Fellow Rotarians
I am sure we are all appalled at the events which took place in Manchester this week, and as Rotarians are only too willing to help.
I have been in touch with the authorities through the good offices of PDG Mike Wilson to see if any immediate help is required. The answer at this stage is that nothing is needed, but that they will get back to us through Mike should this change.
It has been suggested, both locally and through RIBI, that Rotary might be able to help in longer-term measures, such as raising monies to help the victims' families.
I would be happy to receive specific suggestions as to how we as a District might proceed. Please do not respond if you simply want to say 'yes' to supporting such moves: I wouldn't be able to cope with all the responses. This could perhaps be done at club level.
In the meantime our prayers and thoughts are with the families of the bereaved, and with the injured and their families.
Best regards
