Poynton & District Rotary Club have recently helped students in Year 12 at Poynton High School improve their interview techniques. This took the form of training, CV feedback, and mock interviews.
The Poynton & District Rotary Clubs Vocational Services team were able to share their extensive skills in this area to help the students prepare for their internship interviews. The training will also be invaluable in the near future for their university/apprenticeship interviews.
The students involved are voluntarily participating in the Career Ready programme which is a national initiative aimed at giving students a much better understanding of business, the general world of work and their ultimate career choices.
As well as the skills training a number of Club members are also intending to act as mentors to the students. The Club is also represented on the Local Advisory Board for the Career Ready programme alongside staff and local businesses. This has helped to raise the profile of Rotary within the community.
