Wigans Stroke Awareness Day, organised by the members of the Rotary Club of Wigan, in conjunction with the Stroke Association UK was held on Saturday 22rd April 2017, with His Worship the Mayor of Wigan, Cllr. Ron Conway accompanied by the Mayoress, in attendance.
This years event was named the Dr. Venk Mani Day in honour of the services he gave to Stroke Awareness. Rotarian Dr. Mani sadly passed away in 2016.
Wigan Rotary President Maureen Bilsbrough commented, "This was the 10th event and was well supported with up to 126 people volunteering to be tested." She continued Wigan Rotary Club along with the Stroke Association UK, were pleased to promote this opportunity for Tescos staff and customers.
Maureen said It was also a wonderful opportunity to present the Management of Tesco with a Certificate in recognition of all the support they give to the community in Wigan and in particular Wigan Rotary Club, who benefit from the space provided for the Christmas Carole Float collections and many other opportunities for promoting good causes.
