At the Hyde Artisan Market on Saturday 7th May, two Hyde Rotarians were rewarded for their work within the town and local community.
A large audience congregated in front of the stage that would be used to present the first Pride in Hyde Town Awards. The Awards were instigated by Andrew Richardson Founder and Admin on the Hyde Past and Present Facebook Site, who asked his 9,270 members in February to nominate an individual or organisation in the community who have helped to make a difference.
Karen Dorney, a Rotary member since December was first on stage. Karen said that it really was an honour for her to receive the first pride in Hyde Award. Karen said that she organises the Hyde Artisan Market on the first Saturday of the month in conjunction with the Hyde town team. Karen and Brian are really enjoying being Rotarians.
Following Karen, next on stage was Kevin Maddox, Hyde Rotary Club President. Kevin said "wow what a year this has been for me and I am sorry to say it's coming to an end in June. As I reflect on the last ten months, our club has achieved a lot and it is testament to our members that I have received this award today."
