Turton Rotary Club has for the second year running funded Christmas gifts for the ladies who are resident at Fortalice in Bolton.

Fortalice was founded in 1977 and provides emergency accommodation and support to women and children who are experiencing domestic violence and abuse.

‘ As a club we have supported Fortalice for many years as we think it is a great organisation, said organiser Rtn. Alan Wilkinson.

‘Thankfully, we know the children get well provided for at Christmas, but we felt the mum’s can get overlooked. Therefore we decided last year to use some charity funds to purchase gifts for the ladies and we decided this year to do the same again.
This year we provided all 22 resident ladies with a quality cosmetics gift set, a large box of chocolates, a tin of premium biscuits -all gift wrapped, and a Christmas card to each from the club’.

As well as the gifts to Fortalice, Turton once again had a successful Christmas sleigh campaign raising £6125 from donations collected in the North Bolton area.
