At this special time of year the Rotary Club of Rushen & Western Mann and its members in the Isle of Man are active in filling shoeboxes with gifts of toys, toiletries, educational items and household goods to be sent to less privileged people in Eastern Europe.
This year St Johns Methodist Church supported the Rotary Club shoebox appeal with a further 31 boxes collected by members and friends of the church. Helen Robinson from St Johns said the Rotary Club locally were keen to help, when I contacted them to ask if they could accept the boxes on Island, and they were able to make arrangements with Manx Independent Carriers, who generously arranged the transport of the boxes free of charge
