Rotary-Congleton Bikeathon gets off to a champion start.
Cheshire's walking and cycling champion, Suzie Akers-Smith gets the Rotary-Congleton Bikeathon Charity bike ride off to a rolling start. Suzie set the wheels turning at the Makers Market on Saturday, May 28th when she rode a bicycle mounted on a stand, recording her distance on a trip computer.
Bikeathon, launched last year, encourages Congleton folk to get fit and put some miles on the clock for charity. The event runs until June 12th. Cyclists can ride when they want. There's no set route and it's neither a race nor a rally. In fact, riding an exercise bike, indoors, is just as good!
Last year support for the event ranged from nursery schools to octogenarians!
