Rotarians in District 1285 certainly epitomize our motto "Service before Self". Despite two years of being deprived of a Competition, our District has responded positively.
While our long standing Clubs like Congleton and Ramsbottom have taken a well earned "time-out" during lock-down, Young Chef has been boosted by some enthusiastic new clubs entering their local Senior Schools.
Led by Rotary Biddulph, with President Mike Broom and Rtn Ailsa Clewlow, whose efforts recruited two local schools , plus Rtn Alan Smith at Rotary
Alsager also promoting his club's Senior School, into our Young Chef Competition.
Ideally designed to assist teachers by offering a Competition, the impetus of which, has rocketed the young, years 7 to 10 Young Chefs skills by way of
our exciting Competition. Thereby introducing many non academic students
to a new subject equally important in life, that of cooking health food.
And there is nothing more satisfying than being part of seeing our Rotary
motto attain such results.
This year District Chair Rtn Tony Beckett, suggested we concentrate on our core aim...to introduce Young chefs into cooking . So its thanks to our new clubs help we now have ten newly trained YCs competing in our Grand District Final. This will be a Two hour event cooking three courses. Hosting this event is another regular supporter of Young Chef....Rotary Newton le Willows,... on 6th July at Hope Academy. Which is going to be a great event, worthy of all those who
have surpassed our Rotary motto, during a difficult period for Young Chef 1285/
