Despite the continued Covid pandemic, members of the Rotary Club of Astley were able to bring Christmas cheer to local residents in the run up to Christmas. The Club was able to return to the usual street cash collections, as the traditional Float toured the streets of Astley on nine evenings. The Float was also on static display at the two Co-op stores in Astley (The Gables and Cross Hillocks) over two weekends, at Sainsbury's store in Leigh, before rounding off the season at the carol service at the Lancashire Mining Museum.

The Rotary Club of Astley wish to thank all members, as well as external volunteers and supporters for giving over 300 hours of support, and ensuring that the traditional Float returned to normal service.

Thanks also go to the general public for their generosity in making donations to the Club, either via cash, text or Just Giving. The total raised this year is £5200, which will enable the Rotary Club of Astley to support local, national and international charities, organisations and good causes.
