At her last official duty as President 20/21 of Tameside Rotary Club, Maria Bailey presented a cheque for £1060 to Mossley Amateur Boxing Club as a contribution towards the purchase of new boxing equipment.
The boxing club have recently moved into new premises in Squire Mill, Micklehurst after being in Ashton for many years.
Former Tameside Rotary President Maria said, the donation which was made on behalf of all Rotary Clubs in Tameside would enable them to get back into operation as quickly as possible after such a difficult time moving premises and the effects of Covid 19.
Wayne Heywood of the boxing club thanked Tameside Rotary and all the other Rotary Clubs for their kind donation which has enabled the boxing club to purchase new equipment and get back into operation after such a difficult period for the club.
The donation was also possible with the help of a Rotary Foundation Award and other local Rotary Clubs in Tameside who have also contributed. The Rotary clubs who donated are Hyde, Dukinfield & Stalybridge and Denton & Audenshaw.
