Rotary-Congleton is counting the success of its first Bikeathon - where teams set their own targets and ride to get sponsorship support.

One rider tackled the Pennine Way and raised over £1000!

Two teams of ‘Rustic Rotarians’ rode static bikes in the town centre on June 26th and also in Tesco’s car park with support from u3a and members of Tesco staff. Mayor of Congleton.

Rtn Denis Murphy started the day and even rode a bike, himself.

Bikeathon was publicised on a special website. It replaced the Rotary Swimathon, where teams swim lengths of the pool to raise sponsorship but sadly abandoned this year due to closure of the town’s swimming pool due to the pandemic.
