Despite being unable to go into care homes this year, Rotary-Congleton's own Father Christmas is preparing hampers to deliver with a gift for each and every resident.
A feature of Christmas in Congleton, for many years, has been the personal delivery of presents to people in care on Christmas Eve. Congleton Memorial Hospital's in-patients and people in care at Bradwell Court, Green Gables and Heliosa care homes have received a gift and a personal visit from Father Christmas.
This year the personal visits have not been possible due to isolation rules. However, the residents will not be without their presents, thanks in no small part to the generosity of the local Marks and Spencer and Tesco stores and the work of Father Christmas and his elves in making up the hampers of gifts, to be delivered in time for Christmas.
Father Christmas and Rotary President, Stewart Price oversee the preparations.
