Since the onset of the pandemic some of our members have been donating their lunch dues to the club in support of our project on food poverty in the local community.
During the year we have supported a number of local food banks , but now at Christmas time we have decided to give further donations to four of our partners in the hope of spreading a little festive cheer.
We are supporting Newton Community Centre and Newton and Earlestown Community Group in their joint Neighbour to Neighbour project providing vouchers for their hampers. St Johns Church Earlestown Food bank will get festive treats.
Ashton Churches Together (ACT) and the Brick, Wigan will receive donations of food for their respective banks. We have also donated to Newton Hospitals Welfare Association in lieu of our Santa visit.
