Having read about the superb Rainbow Bags distributed by Rotary Warrington, the Rotary Club of Eccles approached the local Food Bank set up recently in our town centre to ascertain interest in providing bags of toys and sweets for children. These will go out alongside the normal food packs.
The bank (which is operated by the Trussell Trust Salford Food-bank) was delighted to receive packs and the club decided that as it was coming up to Christmas we would provide 100 Robin Bags for them. These were delivered to the depot at the end of November and will be distributed during the following few weeks.
This has been an extremely worthwhile project for our members and is to be commended to other clubs for consideration.
