When it comes to requests for help in the community Rotary is never far from the starting blocks, so when at short notice an appeal came from two local food banks for special Christmas food hampers for those families most in need, members of Rotary Cheadle Royal sprung into action.
Under Covic rules, Rotarian Paul Almond took on the task of collecting generous donations of food from members homes including a contribution from a local Co op supermarket whilst Reg & Joyce Lord did the packing and beautiful festive wrapping of the seven hampers which included mince pies, xmas puddings, selection boxes, Christmas crackers and a card from the group members.
Having delivered the festive treats on time and enjoying the hands on satisfaction of the request, the group are now considering replicating this project next Christmas on a larger scale.
