Warrington Rotary Club has launched its Rainbow Bag Appeal.
This time of year Warrington sees one of Rotary Warrington's main events - Oktoberfest. Due to the Covid19 epidemic it was unable to hold this year's event. Oktoberfest raises thousands of pounds for local charities and social organisations and members were looking for an alternative project that would help those who would be affected by the epidemic.
Members agreed that it would be beneficial to do something for children who, due to circumstances, were missing out on small treats. It was decided that the Rainbow Bag could fill this void and bring a little happiness to the recipients. A number of bags were filled with treats including sweets and small toys and distributed via Warrington Food Bank to a number of children in the town.
Warrington Rotary are asking those who would have been attending or sponsoring Oktoberfest to donate cash amounts towards this scheme so they are able to expand it to give the opportunity to get them to more children in Warrington.
