Raising money for End Polio Now has posed a difficult problem during the Covid lockdown period, but an inspiration of last year's President, enthusiastically backed by our new President, raised a good sum with no effort!
The Leigh Rotary Club members pay for meals and subs by standing orders and this continued during lockdown, amassing a nice sum in each members account.
Rather than have it all carry over to next year, members were asked to donate some of it to fight Polio. As the money had already been accumulated, it wasnt really missed, so the majority of members readily agreed and £800 was raised!
This was a wonderful way of producing funds at times when it is difficult to have money-raising events perhaps other clubs could consider it?
