Many parents and grandparents have come to realise over the recent Covid 19 lockdown that it is extremely difficult to motivate children and get school work either on line or in the form of worksheets completed.
Children at Barton Moss Primary School in Eccles have been no exception to this but with the support of parents, regular 'phone calls from staff and a very positive head teacher standards have been maintained.
In order to reward the children for their efforts and to keep them busy during the holidays, Eccles Rotary was asked to provide some rewards plus seeds etc. to support a summer challenge which includes activities such as designing a garden, regularly measuring the seedling and producing a picture in the style of Van Gogh.
At the end of the holidays Rotarians will visit the school to see the results and provide certificates etc. for participants.
