The Rotary Club of Sale has worked in partnership with a rotary club in Hong Kong to complete a project donating 5,000 masks to the Manchester and Trafford PPE Mutual Aid Hub to support the local community during the Covid-19 pandemic.
Rotarian Nicholas Leung, started the project a month ago with colleagues in the Rotary Club of Kwai Chung. This week saw the huge donation of masks being delivered to the hub with the transportation costs being paid for by the Hong Kong Rotarians.
Nicholas commented:
When I spoke with my friends in Kwai Chung about the PPE situation and they volunteered their services, I grabbed the opportunity. I would really like to thank them for their support and kindness.
Laura Hobbs, Trafford Programme Lead for The Mutual Aid Hub commented:
Were extremely grateful to the Rotary Clubs of Sale and Kwai Chung for their generous donation. As with all the donations we receive were currently checking all the quality assurance standards before we distribute it appropriately.
Vice President Sale Rotary Club, David Williams commented:
Were a very busy rotary club and were incredibly committed to serving our community where help is needed. This is just one way we can help by using our international connection. If anyone is interested in joining-in with our exciting plans please do get in touch with us via our website.
The Manchester and Trafford Mutual Aid Hub distributes PPE to non-hospital sector such as care homes, nursing homes, primary care providers, when normal supply routes have been exhausted.
