For several years now the Rotary Club of Chadderton & Failsworth has been committing a significant portion of their annual fund - raising to help small groups in their area. Typical examples are provision of respite for parents of autistic children, Downs syndrome groups, Young Carers and so on. Right now we are supporting food banks. We try to maintain our giving at £1000 per quarter. Down to 12 members and not many opportunities to venture outside right now its not too easy!
Much of our work is done with the cooperation of Action Together and it was so nice to receive the letter of thanks below, we thought wed show it off in Rotary News!
A message sent to you, on behalf of Liz Windsor Welsh and Action Together -
Dear Peter Turner, and everyone at the Rotary Club of Chadderton & Failsworth, I am writing to convey my most sincere thanks for the work that you and your Members have been doing to support the people of Oldham during the Coronavirus crisis. It is such a worrying and critical time for so many and the work and volunteering that you and your team have been doing has made a huge difference to people in Oldham.
We know that things will be different now for our communities and for the way we work and volunteer alongside them, but we know that the new relationships, overwhelming kindness and generosity will last well beyond the coronavirus crisis.
I wanted you to know that the Action Together Oldham Team are here to help you in any way they can please dont hesitate to call us on 0161 339 2345.
Finally, and most importantly, I wanted to thank you once again for your amazing contributions, and we look forward to continue working with you in the Borough for many years to come.
Yours sincerely,
Liz Windsor-Welsh
