Sadly the Foodbank at The Brick has seen an increase in demand and a decrease in donations of non-perishable items. As a result they are working tirelessly to keep their sources for food open and have diverted non essential services to support the food bank.

To try and help plug the gap Wigan Rotary Club have made a donation of £300 to help The Brick Foodbank purchase any food which is in short supply.

Rotary President Mervyn Reeves said, ‘This donation is part of the money collected during December when we accompanied Santa around the streets and supermarkets of Wigan. Without the generous support of the Wigan public then, we would not have been able to help The Brick and this vital time.’

Louise Green, Chief Executive of The Brick, said ’It is the Charity's aim to ensure that people continue to be provided with food and homeless services whilst we get through this crisis, and your donation will support our aim.’

It is unfortunate, that during these unprecedented times the Rotary Club have used modern technology to deliver these well needed funds, instead of a personal visit.
