The Rotary Club of Astley is delighted to announce a record collection of over £5,500 from our Christmas Float last month! Many thanks go to the local residents who donated generously - this will enable us to support a number of worthy causes in the future.
Astley Rotarians were delighted to see the excitement on local youngsters' faces, as they met Santa and received sweets from him. The new Santa tracking app ensured that many people were able to locate and visit the Float when it was out on its rounds.
Thanks also to the individual volunteers and volunteers from organisations (Lancashire Mining Museum, Astley & Tyldesley Cycling Club), who helped Rotarians to bring the float round Astley on nine evenings.
Thanks go to both the Tesco and Sainsbury's supermarkets in Leigh, as well as Costcutter and the Co-op in Astley, for allowing us to collect there
at weekends.
