Some of the money Turton Rotary Club has collected during our time out with the Sleigh, Santa and the snowmen was put to immediate good use.
Our member Lynne , went shopping at Marks and Spencers for some gifts for the ladies at fort Alice.( Fort Alice is a Bolton charity set up for women, children and young people affected by Domestic Abuse and Violence .) Why the ladies ? well we understand that many charities support the children at Christmas but it seemed to us that the mothers were somewhat neglected, so for the last few years we have used some of our donated monies to buy them presents. Lynne spent quite sometime at M&S and managed to get a very good deal out of them for some lovely pyjamas, so good in fact that she was also able to buy a small gift box. We hope the ladies at Fort Alice enjoy the presents and it helps to make their Christmas a little merrier.
Well done to our member Lynne for her skillful negotiating.
