HUNDREDS of shoppers lined the streets to enjoy the The Twelve Days of Christmas lantern parade through Altrincham.
Among the participants were ladies dancing from Cinnamon Club Bowdon, five gold rings from Trafford Leisure, eight maids a milking from Cardwells Theatre School, then 12 Aura music drummers and even Santa Claus courtesy of Altrincham Rotary who led the parade.
Lanterns were made at The TreeHouse Café by 120 young children. Also taking part are pupils from local primary schools including Navigation Primary School and Altrincham CofE Primary School who have been busy preparing lanterns to take part in the parade.
There were over 400 people taking part in the parade and it was watched by hundreds more appreciative spectators.
The parade started in Goose Green then into Regent Road, along George Street onto Cross Street, along Stamford New Road and then back around George St finishing in Stamford Square outside Rackhams where there was a stage. The event was organised by Altrincham Unlimited(BID).
