Sale Rotary worked with the local community arts group (Art with a Heart) and two businesses in Altrincham (Village Carpets and Optieye Care) to create World Polio Day window displays. Supporting this activity, a Art with a Heart volunteer, who is on the autistic spectrum created a puppet (purple polio eater) and gave a live performance In Optieye Care on World Polio Day. A performance that delivered the key messages about Polio and the work by Rotary. It was well received by the public.
Karen Wroe, international chair at Sale Rotary also delivered a thought provoking presentation on her trip to India as part of the 2018 NID at St. Pauls. She is more than happy to share her experience with other clubs.
John Alcock, President of Sale Rotary Club, said Helping to raise the awareness of the EndPolio Campaign is the first of the International Projects by our Club in 2019. Others in plan for 2020 include Lend with Care and the Rise Against Hunger. This is in addition to our youth and community projects in the area.
