Tydesley with Atherton Rotary set out to achieve the citation at the beginning of the year setting clear goals of how to align the requirements of the citation with their passion to make a difference. Having these goals at the beginning of the year set them on a clear path for success.
Projects have included teaming up with Santander to deliver Moneywise sessions at local schools, creating accessible lending libraries for children stocked with a wide range of books to keep or return and maintaining a healthy relationship with local youth groups including the Scout organization.
The club is a wonderful example of how a small and dedicated group of people can make a big difference in a often harsh world.
Gavin Tomlinson, Club President said, 'I am so proud that our club not only had big ambitions to achieve something that hasn't been accomplished in a long time but that we kept on track and with passion and commitment delivered. All of our members are heroes and receiving the Silver Citation just echoes what I already know about each of them.'. If anyone would like to hear more about how the club achieved their goals do get in touch.
