During the month of July we have been judging eight school entries in this year's garden competition for the best herbal garden. The children aged from 5-11 had to identify, plant and cultivate a wide variety of medicinal plants,
In addition they had to research and document their potential properties for healing and create a poster to illustrate their findings. The maximum no. of plants identified was eighteen.
The "gardeners" were asked about their findings and we were very impressed by their depth of knowledge.
The schools all remarked on the enthusiasm of the children and their depth of knowledge on the plants.
