This is the seventh year the Rotary Club of Irlam has run its Irlam in Bloom Project. Part of the project is to involve all the local primary schools by inviting them to enter their In Bloom Poster competition.
This year they have received hundreds of entries from their local primary school children of various ages.
After many cups of coffee and a tough round of judging from the panel of judges from the Rotary Club of Irlam. The eventual overall winner was Maisie Whitehouse Age 9 from Fiddlers Lane Community Primary School. Her fantastic image now features on the billboard next to Automech on Liverpool Road in Cadishead that will be on display for the next year.
Runner up was Elizabeth Canning Age 10 from Irlam Endowed School and in third place was Alyssa Savvides Age 10 from Irlam Primary School. Age group prizes were also presented to the various winners in a presentation held on the Automech car park in front of the winning billboard image.
Well done to everyone who took part and entered and especially to the winner Maisie and her hard work that is now on display for all to see. Irlam Rotary Vice-President Jane Williams said, It was really tough to pick the winners and all the entries should be congratulated for all their hard work, well done everybody.
