The rotary Club of Leigh collected an amazing amount of over £15,300 from the very generous people of Leigh and Lowton.
Leigh Rotarys President Frank Bowker said, The pleasure on childrens faces during our collections made all our efforts really worthwhile. Touring the streets with the Santa Sleigh brought so much joy to children and their parents.
The amount raised was tremendous and set a new record - what amazing people we have in our town! The funds we collected will be put to good use for worthwhile causes such as youth groups, community organisations and other deserving causes.
We were blessed with lots of helpers this year and we must say a very special thank-you to everyone who volunteered to brave the cold and to tow the sleigh using their private vehicles. The Rotary Club of Leigh would like to thank Bents, Asda, Morrisons and Tesco for allowing collections on their premises, along with Jim Stones Buses for looking after our Sleigh through the year. We could not have managed without everybodys help but most of all, thanks to the wonderful people of Leigh & Lowton for their generosity.
