A week of hard work at The Culcheth Sports Club culminated on Friday & Saturday 14th & 15th September in another hugely successful CULCHETH BEER FESTIVAL (see photograph). Again, records were broken with over 1000 attendees, 630 of whom arrived on the Saturday. Live Music, a Delicious Hog Roast, 40 different Cask Ales, a range of Ciders and the new attraction of a Gin & Fizz Bar, plus free Soft Drinks contributed to a lively atmosphere. Revellers & Connoisseurs of the Hop, Grape and the 10 different Gin mixes will be pleased to note :-
2400 pints of Ale quaffed,
500 pints of Cider swigged,
250 bottles of Lager supped,
150 bottles popped,
560 G&Ts sipped.
Details of the amount raised for Rotary Charities are not yet available, but thanks to our generous Public and our Sponsors, we remain in a position to offer assistance to local charities, self help groups, sports and community causes regardless of age.
Should you be considering Beer Festival Sponsorship next year, your business details will appear in the programme and on your designated Cask of Ale. We particularly thank this years major sponsor Hunter Healy who additionally helped us with the glasses, entertained us with their own Brass Band and helped out on the bar contributing greatly to the event . Our SPONSORS have supported US, so please support THEM, as and when you can.
THE HALLE CULCHETH CONCERT
We are pleased to announce that, on the evening of Monday 26th November, at the Culcheth Sports Club (Daten) we will again present Members of the World famous HALLE ORCHESTRA and Friends playing a selection the more popular classical pieces each announced humorously by one of the Musicians, with interesting snippets of background information. We hope that our mystery Guest Conductor will again step in to take charge of the latter part of the proceedings, thereby adding to the enjoyment of the evening.
TICKETS, priced £10.00 each, are available by phoning 01925 764370 also from Rotary Club Members, or at the Culcheth Sports Club bar.
