The sensory garden in Milton park, which is the latest Alsager Rotary community project, is starting to become established as the recent photo shows. The sensory garden project is the idea of P.P Wendy Parker as her Presidents Charity Project. Wendy is the main driver and will definitely see it through to completion.
Many hours of voluntary work by club members has brought it to the way you see it today. Having been watered regularly during our recent spell of very hot weather all the new planting is thriving and it is becoming the scented garden that was planned last year, attracting many butterflies and bumble bees through the summer months. Many grateful thanks have been forwarded to Smithy Nurseries who very generously donated all of the new bedding plants which has enabled Alsager Rotary to reach the completion of phase two of the design. Phase 3 of the project will be completed in Spring 2019. The garden was designed and planned to be appreciated by those who are living with Dementia and also for the enjoyment of the entire community. The funding for the project is now secured due to a successful District Grant application resulting in a £650 award. Congratulations to all those involved - Good result.
