Rotary – Congleton held its 27th Annual Swimathon at Congleton Leisure Centre earlier in March this year. The recipient charities are Dementia UK, the newly reformed Congleton Less-Abled Club and other local charities. The event was well support with 48 local teams taking part.

Support came from most of the Primary Schools in the Congleton area as the children love the event and have lots of fun whilst raising money for worthwhile charities. All contesting teams can opt to receive 50% back from the money they raise for their own charity choices.
We also have many regular participants, including local churches, Scout and Swimming clubs and together have raised almost £10,000 this year.

We would particularly like to thank Tesco Supermarket for their regular support in this and other events.

44 Easter Eggs enjoyed by many in Congleton.

Rotary - Congleton would like to thank all the local establishments which helped raise over £2:000 this year when they encouraged their clientele to spend £1 and choose a football team name on a scratch card in the hope of winning a large Thornton’s Easter Egg. Special thanks go to the customers of The Unicorn at West Heath, The Farmers Arms on West Street and The Harrington Arms at Bosley as they sold multiple eggs.
The chosen charity this year was The Blind Veterans Society which has been operational since 1915 and helped over 15,000 ex-servicemen. The Society was absolutely delighted upon the presentation of the cheque and thanked all who helped raise this amount.

Club Social

Some of the members of Congleton Rotary went to see the Queen tribute band at Gawsworth. Amazing night that involved a lot of wine and singing and laughter.
