Members of Stockport Lamplighter recently held their annual weekend away in glorious sunshine at Bryn Tanat Hall, a beautiful white washed mansion house in North Wales. And what a fun filled weekend it proved to be.
The weather was excellent, allowing the guests to take part in the many activities that the Hall offered such as outdoor games, walks through the grounds, chatting and reading on the patio, enjoying the hot tub.
Charlotte and David Decorte organised a fantastic Murder Mystery Evening where everybody dressed up and played their part during a delicious meal prepared by Lamplighter President Linda Mullins.
In fact Linda catered for the whole weekend, with everybody declaring the standard of food to be far better than many five star restaurants. And plentiful too. Praise indeed !
This is certainly the way to show that Rotarians are fun filled folk who enjoy each others company immensely, that they play hard as well as work hard together.
At the end of a wonderful presidential year Linda Mullins recently held her farewell dinner at Stockport Golf Club where she presented the Lamplighter of the Year Award to past President Bernadette Holgate for her superb efforts in helping ( along with Philip Smith and Ray Atkinson) form an innovative eClub.
Against all the odds and many cries of this wont work the Club has gone from strength to strength and, under the Leadership of Steve Scott, now has enough members for it to become Chartered.
The members have put their own stamp on how the club is run and have decided to meet once monthly whilst using Zoom technology for their other meetings.
Bernadette and Philip still support the Club at their face to face meetings and are always available for help and advice.
Lamplighter members were all delighted that Bernadettes efforts were justly rewarded in this way.
