Members of the Rotary Club of Astley and the Rotary Club of Leigh have teamed up to support the Rotary Charity Bike Ride weekend. Rotarians from across the
country are getting on their bikes this weekend to raise funds in aid of Prostate Cancer UK charity.
Our local ride began at the Lancashire Mining Museum in Astley Green on Saturday morning. A group of 8 riders cycled across Chat Moss to Irlam Station,
enjoyed a welcome break at this impressive location, before returning to the Mining Museum. Our thanks go to the volunteers at the Mining Museum for
providing refreshments both before and after the ride.
The ride took in the beautiful open fields of Chat Moss and we are so fortunate to have such a quiet, tranquil, rural setting right on our door step.
Everyone thoroughly enjoyed the ride, the welcome breaks and the satisfaction of raising funds for a very worthwhile charity. Especially with the forecast
rain holding off!
